I am shopping for an underhood Redarc DC-DC charger. They are not cheap.

In my search I came across in-vehicle variants sold by Mopar at much lower prices. Like less than $300 for the 25 amp model, and ~$330 for the 40 amp model. Might be interesting for folks who install them inside the cabin.

No experience. But this appears to be a legit dealer parts outlet.

Hmm, maybe I am confused and these are good for underhood install... hard to say, the picture says "Core" in which case they are not good for engine bay installation.

Interesting! The part description seems to indicate it can be used in underhood conditions:
"Fully sealed to survive the harshest conditions and work flawlessly in engine bay installations, this charger has been proven to thrive in all types of terrain, including deep water crossings, and stand up against extreme vibration and heat (up to 176 degrees F)."

The Redarc Core is for in cabin installs only. They don’t have the heat, dust and water protection like the standard BCDC.

Yeah, I called the place, guy wasn't 100% sure but likely it is a Core version, since Mopar lists an "underhood" (Classic) one for more $$$.

Anyway, normal Core vs. Classic pricing is same or close, so for someone looking to do in-cabin install this is a great deal.
