Good evening yall, I've gotten so much use out of this forum for the past few years and finally decided to post. Love toyotas, started out with a 91 pickup with a few mods on it and recently bought a 85 fj60. I have tons of pictures and other random s*** I'll put up here soon but back to the reason why I'm posting: A few of my buddies and I went wheeling today and got stuck. Rocked it back and forth, hi an low, stood on the bumpers, put s*** under the tires, basically everying you can do without a winch or another truck pulling you. Still stuck, and the little 31" bfgs were just slinging water all over the place. So I got ahold of one of my friends with a wrangler on 33s and got him to come pull me out. When I hooked up my strap we tried everything and it would not budge, ended up messing up his 4wd as it started to get dark. There was a way to get to the front of the cruiser but it was almost pitch black back in the woods and heres the kicker, I go to the Citadel and have an awesome curfew of 7:50 and here it was about 7:30. So needless to say we hauled ass back to school and my baby is still in the woods. I can't leave during the week so I gave my sister the key and am going to call a wrecker or something tommrow. I was wondering if anyone has any advice about who to call or if anyone would be willing to come pull me out. Thank yall so much any help would be greatly appreciated.
p.s. if you just want to give me moral support to help me with my seperation anxiety thatd help to :frown:

...

You sure that your hubs are locked? I was about to walk 5 miles back to my apartment this summer to get my Tundra - then my buddy realized that my hubs weren't locked. It helps to have all four wheels turning on the sand.

If you really are stuck - there's nothing like the feeling in your get when you know you are completely fxxxed. When I first got the 60 bone stock on bald a/ts - went out on a high tension power line route. Saw a big mudhole - figured fxxx it...gunned her, got about 5 feet from the end and got stuck - not only was I alone - I was on private property. Luckily a local saw me drive down the road and pulled me out.

....Lesson learned.....

NEVER wheel alone, or if you have to - never without a winch or at least a Hi-Lift. It;s just not worth it - I know.

There's only been a few times when I've had the feeling of being absolutely fxxxed....one of them has been been when I got stuck.

I almost forgot....
:flipoff2:

Yea man my hubs were definately locked and so were my buds. Your right though its a bad feeling and i think having to leave your car all alone in the woods at night is even worse. This is the first time ive ever had to do it. I dont relly like flying through mud bogs I was just trying to get to another trail and it was in the way. Id been through a couple others and it did fine the ground below the water seemed pretty hard in all of them. Its just that it in this hole i crawled in and it was like a drop off or something my back bumper was like parallel to the dry ground before the puddle. Thats probably why we couldnt get it out in reverse. If we wouldve had more time and daylight im sure we couldve gotten it out forwards though.

charlestonfj60 thanks for the help i left you a message give me a call back whenever you get a chance.

Thanks for the help!

good luck

good luck - I hope your doors are locked....

No it's still sittin back in that hole. Charlestonfj60 was nice enough to go out there today and try to pull it out. He's got a 60 with bfgs and a winch and it wouldn't budge the thing. We think that its probably gonna take somethin with lockers or just a lot of weight to get it out. If anybody has something or knows someone that has something that could get it out PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I just dont want it sittin out there all week.

You try the Pirate board? Wish I was closer.

Or call the local (if any) 4wd shop?

snatch block?

Since the local Mud-Member has a winch, perhaps the addition of a snatch block would help? a snatch block will will make this a "double-line" pull which will essentially double the pulling capacity of the winch. Maybe that'll give it enough "uuuuumph" to get it out. It's a good thing to have in your recovery bag anyway... Good luck and keep us posted on how this goes...and most importantly...PICS!

Post up in the Upstate Cruiser's Low Country Board. I'm sure there is someone there that can help you get out. Ahh..the good ole days of the 7:50 curfew, must have happened on a sunday or wednesday. Hope everything turns out ok.

Found a guy with an offroad tow truck thatll pull it out for $75. I hate spending the money but the sooner i get it out of there the better. The spots pretty well known and ive seen abandoned cars there one week and then the same car burned to the ground the next week. If anybodys got any advice let me know before i take the plunge. Thank yall for helpin out though

I'd spend the $$ = cheaper than the deductible (especially if you're only running liability ins like me).

Maybe ask pretty please for the local Mudder to go 'observe' the removal from mudpit, so you know what actually gets broken.

For that kinda money, I'd take the offer. That sounds very reasonable, IMHO.

When the vehicle is pulled out let me know where this mud hole is. I am intrested to see if my trucks can make it threw.

Pics don't work man. You've gotta load them up to photobucket or something similar, then post the url of the image when you post.

I'm glad to hear that everything worked out. It could have turned into a real shat show.

The tire was about a foot off the ground, damn i need new suspension

And a few once I got stuck. The hole really wasn't even that deep but my bumper and the frame was pretty much sitting on the ground underwater. The back left tire was right up against a drop off, it wasn't going anywhere.

I saw this thread too late! I'm locked f/r with TSL's and 10K winch. I'm glad the guy with the tow rig was asking a reasonable price.
