Hello all. My name is Harley. The wife and I relocated to Partlow (Spotsylvania) a couple of years ago. Been trying to make it down for a meeting, but week nights just haven’t been in the cards.
Been into off roading pretty much my whole life, always wanted a cruiser but life had other plans. Got my first 80 in 2008 and built it up.
Unfortunately life has it ups and downs and I was forced to part ways with it after about 5 years. Then in 2015 picked up a LX450 and started over. Lessons learned took the new build in other directions and to great destinations.
I then took a work transfer and ended up in the Midwest. Given the limited off roading opportunities, a blown motor, and wanting to take the build in a different direction we parted ways with the LX and began a new chapter with a Tacoma.
The Tacoma has been great and has taken over as the main wheeling rig now but it could if feel the void of being cruiser less. Just as the urge to really find a new LC I ended up taking another work transfer and landed here. This if where we’ll be for the foreseeable future. After arriving the LC journey started again. Found a fresh off the boat ‘94 KZJ78.
Been slowly working my way through things with the 78 over the past couple of years. Rebuilt the head, axle rebuild with swap to manual hubs, transfer case rebuild… we’ll see what’s next.
Hoping to get to a meeting or event at some point. I was very active in my two previous TLCA clubs but geography and schedule have been tedious mistresses as of late.
