I did this as well. It looks and feels great. I took the seat out and did it on the workbench. It is not very hard and there are videos that show step by step. I never got stuck.

I used The Seat Shop - Factory Match Replacement Seat Covers and Cushions - https://www.theseatshop.com/

Specifically: 2003 - 2009 Lexus Gx 470 - Front Row Driver Side Bottom Seat Cover - I - https://www.theseatshop.com/collections/2003-lexus-gx-470/products/2003-2009-lexus-gx-470-front-row-driver-side-bottom-seat-cover-ivory-oem-material-config-all-leather

From the invoice:

2003 - 2009 LEXUS GX 470 - FRONT ROW DRIVER SIDE BOTTOM SEAT COVER - IVORY OEM MATERIAL CONFIG. ALL LEATHER

It cost $253.94 with tax and shipping.

Also, I used this dye to buff up the rest of the seats:

Dye Size: 8oz - touchups / 1 seat front
Car Manufacturer: Lexus
Lexus Dye Color: Ivory - LEXUS20

from Auto Leather Dye | Car Leather Dye Kits and More - https://autoleatherdye.com/

One bottle did the other seats. I used a lot where it was cracked. It looks great but not sure how long it lasted (I don't remember what it looked like now).

Unless I am reading that wrong, it’s $250 for only the one seat bottom. Lseat sells the full leather kit for both front seats (bottoms, backs, armrests, headrests) for under $400

Looks like it. I would bet mine were a better fit but the Lseat ones look good as well. I did this about 2 years ago. Also, I am not sure about Backs. There are airbags in there and when I did mine I couldn't even find backs under 1k. Mine were not bad, so I re-dyed them and they look fine.

One more thing: I think LSeats are made overseas. The Seat Shop makes them here in America.

I also agree above. The new bottom made the GX feel new. Mine had rips and duct tape when I bought it. Actually there were some terrible covers on both seats. I think they were the neopreen ones. They were terrible.

The lseat covers include provisions for the airbag to blast through. The airbag itself sits inside the foam and is not part of the seat cover.

I'm not raving about the lseat fitment. For the price they are pretty nice though.

These went onto a truck with 273k miles, I'm not exactly dumping loads of cash into it. At the same time, it is hard to imagine anything better except for buying straight from Lexus. I'll gamble that the leather will shrink... my wallet did not shrink much!

Anybody use the kit from Cameron? Not sure who makes it, but it covers all three rows and adds heat and cooling if desired. Toped out it is $2500, so not the economical way, but might actually be worth it as it makes the GX new again.

Never heard of those, but there is no way in hell would I replace the middle or rear seat leather. Huge pain for zero gain. I don't sit back there, and no reasonably sized human would even fit in the third row. I suppose if you want new leather for your toddler to puke/piss all over, it's an option.

That being said, I steam cleaned the middle row and they look a hell of a lot better. My third row seats went into the trash the day I bought the truck.

I'm thinking of making a small couch for my garage out of the third row seats. Going to take a welding class but might be able to do it with wood. I'd rather have a pair of front seats. Electric couch would be cool!

Sorry, taking over this thread.

1. I had a big gouge of foam out of my seat. I just replaced it with some foam from an old couch. I can't tell any difference. This might save you money over buying some new foam.

2. I transfered my heater pads into the new seat. It was easy and they still work great. This should not stress you, although make sure you don't cut it.. I saw one shop that wanted $850 to add heaters. You can do this yourself.

Your thoughts, jiggletits?

The new seat bottom foam was only like $80 if I recall. I’d rather do it right for that price.

Heat elements are easy to move over but you need a quilt basting tool to match the factory attachment style. Similar attachment to the factory ones. Jo Ann fabric sells the tool, it’s cheap. Similar to a retail clothing tagging gun.

I actually had to buy an entire drivers side junkyard seat, remove all the wiring, and move the frame over to my rails. Previous owner did some really dumb s***. Turned out I didn’t even need the seat foam, I ended up with a spare.

Well, it’s 2025. How are the seat covers holding up?

Hey! Good question! Sorry, but I sold the vehicle (240k). I replaced both seat bottoms and they looked great to the day I sold it. I do believe that the buyer bought it because of the seats. He kept saying, "These are nice! My mom will love them."

I would do it again. Good quality.
