I replaced the OEM rear shocks on my 2004, 112,000 mile LC today at DIY Texas, it's a well set up garage. 2-post lift is $20 bucks an hour, took me a little over an hour, was my first time. Although is could be done with out them, the 22mm flex head ratcheting wrench made the job easier, not to mention the lift. If anyone local to Austin wants to borrow the wrench feel free to PM me, they don't have one in their tool inventory and I had to order this one because I couldn't find one on the shelf anywhere.

Maybe it is all mental but it rides and drives better? I did the front ones at 80K

If you don't know how to operate a lift they will lift it for you. If you know how to operate one they will just help you set up and check the placement of your lift points and let you operate the lift.

Check out there website at DIYtexas.com

That is a very cool idea and the rates are reasonable. I wonder how that works with their insurance as most shops do not let customers in the shop, more-less work on their trucks in the garage.

Also, what if a user tries to tackle a job that may take more than a day? What if the truck gets stuck there? That's always been a pain of borrowing friends shops.

Not sure about the insurance question and I really don't care because it is such a cool place, if I get hurt it's my own fault, that is the risk I take working on my own vehicle. You have to sign a release.

As far as the other questions about vehicles getting stuck there or getting in over your head
go check out the website DIYtexas.com it explains all that stuff.
