i have a 93 cruiser that i purchased with 160,000 miles and i really dont know the history behind it, maintenance wise. i am thinking about changing the tranny fluid cuz I have changed every other fluids/oils(engine oil, rear & front Differentials, Transfer case). I wanted to know if you guys think it is a good idea to take it to my Toyota dealer and have them flush the whole system and add new tranny fluid(since it is a high mileage cruiser.---shifts are smooth and perfect and tranny fluid is really red). Do you guys know how much this service would cost? thanks for any info.

I would not flush the tranny. Given the fluid is nice and red, it sounds like the fluid has been changed. I would just do a drain and fill once or twice over the next 15,000 miles and then drain and fill every 15,000 miles. Your choice as to synthetic or mineral ATF, Synthetic will provide better shifts in very cold weather and be less likely to break down should you use the vehicle for heavy towing.
