On the way home from buying my 100 I realized that the top center console box needed something to keep the rattling of loose objects down to a minimum. I know this is a simple solution that is probably a waste of time even posting but I thought I would share anyway...

I started with measurements of the bottom of the center console tray...

Then I used cardstock and cut out the liner as a template...

Then I dug up what I had in the garage for a lining material. There's probably better stuff to use but I had these sheets of Craftsman tool drawer liners on hand so I decided to use this...

Next I laid out the cardstock template and cut to size...

Final product:

I used a small amount of double sided tape on each corner to hold it down. I don't keep much in my console but it definitely helps keep the iPhone or other items from sliding/rattling around.

I do this on all my cars. I can't stand rattles. I use carpet or my new favorite is old mousepads.

That's funny I did the same exact thing and used the same material.

I had one of my SUV's leather seat reupholstered. The upholstery shop gave me back a good size piece of leather left from the job. I flipped it and it is basically suede, works great on my other cars, how ever I have not used it in my LC. I'm still waiting for the Hundi to get here from her 2000 km trip in a flat bed.
