Need a little help here. I am going to oceano dunes this weekend and decided to change my diff oil and transfer case. I was going to change both of the diffs and the trans case but ran out of time after completing the rear and trans case. To change the oil I followed all the instructions from the faq. I added mobile 1 synthetic 75w90 to both. When I went for a drive my check engine light went on as well as the vsc and atrac lights. I have no way of checking the code right now so I'm just looking for some input as to what this can be. Thanks in advance for any help.

I believe it was just a coincidence that the lights came on after you did the fluid change.

There are a number of codes that trip all 3 lights so it's best to get a code reader on there.

You could probably reset it by disconnecting the battery for about 15-30 minutes.

Problem solved. Turns out it was the speedo sensor. I had unplugged it because it was in the way of the fill hole. When I drove off I forgot to plug it in which set off the lights. Plugging it back in did not reset the cel. Thanks for the advice on how to reset the cel. Now problem is solved and I can go have fun at oceano.

Similar issue on my rig, plus the engine light. Yesterday called the dealer and he told me to take off the gas cap and tighten it securely and drive the truck for 50 miles. It should reset it self. This is supposedly common issue. I will let you know if this is true after 50 miles!!!

if gas get filled to the top (I accidentally filled gas to the very top).

Yours is a little different. The code is probably p0450. That's an EVAP issue. Most likely a mild-moderate leak.

Overfilling the tank causes pressure to build and fuel to slosh around overwhelming the charcoal canister. Pretty common, especially at high altitude or warm temperatures.

A leaking fuel cap will trip the same code. Although I don't know if the code will clear itself, even after tightening the cap.

I just got these lights this morning, driving down the road normally, haven't done any maint to the truck in a while. My parents did have it for the last 7 weeks and it just sat in their garage untouched. They drove it out to my house on Sunday (60 miles) and then I've been using it since. Only thing is, they put gas in it. Maybe I'll try the gas cap first. I don't have a scan tool, I should really buy one.

Still on, no change in the way it drives. Going in to the shop tomorrow to read the codes.

Those 3 lights also read for a coil. I just replaced my #2 again, first time was 2007. Guessing since its the last in the firing line, perhaps that is why it went bad again and the others have never gone out? Does anyone know if driving on a mis-fire will foul the plug? Need a code reader myself, but Autozone is only a mile away - free code reader use in the parking lot to re-set.

But shouldn't I get a hesitation or sputter from the engine? I'm getting none of that, smooth as a top.

With a bad coil, you will usually get the sputter or hesitation or worse, crawl mode. With this last one I just replaced, it was very
intermittent, like an electrical issue - coils are electric so guess I should have trusted the code and replaced earlier.
Code 0300 general mis-fire comes with the code that indicates the coil number. I am getting one of those bluetooth readers, much less worry.

Evap code, charcoal canister vent is broken. $450 :-(

Got the truck back, and now I'm getting a rhythmic noise from the fuel tank area when I shut the truck off. If I pull the gas cap and relieve the pressure it goes away, but once I screw it back on in a couple minutes it comes back. What the heck is that?
