What power source is everyone tapping into for their CB's, i thought about splicing into the cigaratte lighter but dont know if that is my best option.

I ran my own set of wires, and put in a fuse box from a marine supply store behind the kick panel on the passenger side.

The cigarette lighter might work depending on how much power your CB uses. I would double check the fuse ratting vs. the CB's power requirements. Then make sure you don't exceed it, especially if you have something plugged into the cig. lighter.

Run a separate pair of wire directly from your battery, you'll get less background noise. Both my CB & 2M/440cm are wired that way, pretty easy to do too.

im mounting the antenna with the bandi mount and im running the cable under the truck up to the center console.

you might want to follow the wire harness that runs inside the truck under the sill plate. Just to keep it out of the weather.

What is the sill plate?

the plastic cover on the floor by the door that holds the flooring down and serves as a wire tray
