I am wanting to mount my Cobra CB on the ceiling of my 2000 Tacoma and I have not come up with a way yet. The idea is to somehow mount the CB in the center, in front of the rear view mirror and run the coaxal through the mirror mount, across and down the A Pillar. I have checked clearances and the radio will not block the rear view mirror...
Any suggestions will be appreciated...

well old school we used to make a wooden frame for an overhead console and upholster it.
Now a days I would just mount it under the dash using a bracket that can utilize existing fasteners if possible.
Sort of like how my current company truck has a 2 way radio and mic mount.

Maybe you can locate something that you bolt/rivet/screw a larger plate to that you could then mount the radio to.

what model ?

IMO... cb's aren't good for much, but trail use and when in a caravan
I wouldn't exhaust that much effort if installing a cb...

now if it were a meter radio...
the extra effort would be worth the time spent.

why not just get a cb unit that fits in the ashtray. location
and keep it simple

or... just lose the double din for a single and put 'er there

Get the uniden pro520xl. It fits in the ash tray spot. That's what I'm running and it's great. I paired it up with the lil wil antenna on amazon and have no complaints
