During a session of spirited driving in my 99 I received reports of flames and sparks coming from my exhaust. Engine temps were nominal the whole time despite being at or around 4k revs for about half an hour. I have no warning lights and it drives and sounds as it did before. Fortunately no brush fires were started during this.

So my question is this: If I destroyed the cat would I be getting some sort of emissions light? I suppose it could be 25 years of carbon fouling being burned out, and I don't want to scrap it for no reason in case I end up in an emissions state.

Side note: When you're on 37s and Dobinson IMS the pig rides like a side by side
