I am putting a OME medium kit on my 80 series and was wondering if anyone knows of a shop in the Des Moines area that has a press that would be able to press out my stock / press in my new OME caster correction bushings on my front control arms. I haven't seen any offroad/4X4 shops since I have lived here, but I would imagine there should be a farm implement shop or something that should be able to do the job.

Thanks in advance!

Maybe Ice Truck works in Clive. If not them I would try Maaco machine shop on E. University. I have used them several times for little odd jobs. They specialize in engine work but, I had them drill and tap my box for hydro assist and extract bolts. He is very reasonable.

Thanks, I might have to give them a try. I'll have to stop by Maaco when I acquire the slee bushing tool

How soon do you need them done?
some time in the next couple of months I,ll be doing mine and Caseys
one more wont be a problem:wrench::wrench::wrench:

That would be awesome, do you have access to the slee tool or something similar and a 5ton press? I don't put a lot of miles on my rig, so I could wait until you guys do yours. Whatever works for you guys.

I have a landtank ome 2* caster template if that helps

I have access to a press and I can make the bushing tool
the template would be a great help

Rob,

Are you located in or near Des Moines?

The template looks pretty slick compared to the instructions that came with the Old Man Emu bushings, seems to take all of the guess work out of the job.

Does anyone know if it makes it more difficult to remove the front control arms to install the caster bushings if you have already installed the bigger OME medium's 851/860 springs vs removing them when you are installing the lift kit.

I'm going to try to install the springs/shocks this weekend before school starts next week.

The caster can wait since I don't drive a whole lot, unless somebody wouldn't recommend that.

I live 30 miles E of DM in Monroe

Casey's is already lifted and mine will be soon
it shouldn't matter
give me a call 515 669 7005

I'll give you a call. I put on my OME springs today, but I haven;t had a chance to test drive it yet.

It's late or I would give you a call, but I was wondering if you guys have a date set to do the caster bushings.
