Cargo BOX on Roof, Have you Done It?

Thinking of carrying the hi-lift jack, shovel, chains, blankets, etc etc etc and I have a Yakima Rocket Box and the bars and everything. I haven't seen anyone with an actual box on top of an 80, mostly baskets. What is the upside to the baskets? More rugged and better for low hanging branches I can see but the box offers being able to lock up your gear out of sight and out of mind.

Anyone done it? Got a pic?
 
I use a hitch cargo carrier, as seen here. I put the lighter-weight and/or wet/sloppy stuff in it.

I think it works well, is lockable, and very easy to access. It does keep you from towing anything though.

I believe there is a whole thread devoted to this subject. Here's a picture of mine. I only use it when traveling with 3 people.
