My center console was starting to look worn out and scratched. I was thinking about painting it, but that would has not lasted much. So I found this carbon fiber imitation vinyl material, I got about 2 feet for $15.00. Very strong and sort of easy to work, Ok it is was a pain to work with it, I used a heat gun to get it to work better. According vendor, the material can last a long time inside, but it is only garanteed for 5 years if used for external surfaces. Same stuff they use for signage you see in some comercial vehicles and buses.
I took out the center console cleaned out very good and removed the H/L shifter boot and covered it with the material. I like the way it looks, much better than it looked before. Here is a picture.
I was thinking about getting real carbon fiber material, but it was about $50.00 vs. $15.00

Uh, I don't see a pic.

worn out and scratched...dang...my wife just took the cruiser with the kids for four days so photo is out of the question. my cuiser...ha I said "my" like I ever get to use it....is the primary hauler of stuff and kids. yes kids. kids that spill yogurt....not neccesarily on purpose they just spill it...and crayons that melt in the Summer and sand from the beach and mud and snow and sticks and shells and bones and feathers and beads and cheerios and those sticky dried fruit things and legos and wood chips and hamsters and bark and rabbit food and ice cream with sprinkles/jimmies and wood glue and contact cement and stickers from the dentist and doctor and glitter and play mobile pieces and parts and well you prolly get the picture even though I'm probably leaving out several major food groups.....My center console is looking pretty much like you would expect it to look if you read the verbose description above.....Good luck with that carbon fiber...not my style.

Its the raisins in the seats and carpet that I like the most

Talking about garbage acumulated. When I removed the console I found enough change in thee to order a large pizza and enough food in there (french fries, cheerios, fish crakers, etc) to feed a family. I like the look of the carbon fiber better than the scratched console. I don't belong to the rice burner/carbon fiber crowd, but I think it fits the console very well.

You is one funny mofo.

Too much cutting to drop my ARB switches back in. Besides, faded plastic goes with the rest of the designer console...
