Carb to borrow or rent during rebuild

Hello all,

I know I haven't met most of you in the valley but i am looking for a favor. I am going to send my carb to JimC for a rebuild hoping it will help me pass smog. It is my DD so it is tough. Would someone be willing to lend or rent a smog legal carb to me for a few weeks/months while JimC has it?

Hey Jeremiah,
If you don't find anything closer, PM me your address and I'll ship you a carb. It's not a pristine unit and probably needs rebuilt itself, but my 60 got 13-14 mpg with it, it passed smog, and will get you through reliably till your Jim C unit comes back. All I ask is you pass it on free to the next guy who needs a loaner. You'll love your Jim C rebuild by the way!

Thanks for the offer Dan, but I only have enough budget for the rebuild from Jim. If you are willing to come down some i might be able to do it. Also, is it a smog carb?

i know i'm not a member of this here club BUT, why not have marlin rebuild your carb? cheaper, closer and way faster. he builds all my carbs.......

Thanks all for the help and Ideas! Unfortunately some cash had to be redirected and now I am getting very personal with my 60. That carb seems to have about 5 trillion pieces. sycruiser helped me out with carb section of the Toyota service manual so i seem to be good to go. I will let you know when it is done, then it will go to Marlin for some fine tuning!
