I am looking at either a 77 or an 81 Aisan carb to run on a 76 2F. Other than having the proper accelerator rods in place are there any issues that would cause me to avoid a carb from either of those years or can I just bolt it on? If it matters I plan on having Chenoweth or Mark (Mark's Offroad) do a rebuild. Thank you, Steve

1. Carbs are different heights, which makes a difference to how well the air cleaner fits. Then again, so does the height of the valve cover.

2. The 77 will have the large EGR tube between the fuel bowl and the throttle body; the 81 does not.

What Mark said.

To expand slightly, the 81 is a poor fit on a 75-80 truck.

Specifically:
The choke cable will not connect
The ICS is 2 wire
There is no fuel return fitting
The later carb is shorter, so the air cleaner doesn't sit straight on it

Are their any special considerations in putting a 75 2f in a 78 with a 78 carb? Thanks in advance for hanging out in the HC house and for your help. You guys are both awesome as usual.
