A buddy has a 69 SS Camaro with a 350. He just installed a new manifold and a demon carb. The motor starts fine, runs great, but diesels and backfires thru the carb when he shuts it down. I told him to check timing, he says everything is within specs. Any other ideas, I haven't made it over there yet.

Carb setup, I know the Demon I bought for my brother had some vid that came with it for setup. Dumping too much fuel, or too lean (hot spot/ carbon) or like already stated timing. If that is all that was changed those should be the only possible culprits.
