Anyone ever hook the external speaker output of their cb up to their stereo?

The cb i'm planning on installing in my 80 has a 3.5 mm speaker output jack. I have a couple of extra inputs (RCA) on my switch box for my stereo. I thought I could use a 3.5mm/RCA adaptor cable to hook this up (same way my xm/MP3 player is plugged in to the stereo).

Anyone see a problem with doing this electrically?

Thanks,
Ben

You will need to use a line convertor in between to change the high level out on the CB external speaker to low level for your input on stereo. These are commonly sold to convert deck power outputs to RCAs to allow for an amp to be hooked up.

Is this on your 80? If so, you've probably already bypassed the stock dash speakers by installing the new headunit. Cut the wires and cut the capacitor off the back of the two little dash speakers and wire them in series to get an 8 ohm impedance. That is what your CB uses for external out. Then you can here the CB up front and still listen to tunes.

That probably makes the most sense. I still have the stock speaker setup but not for long so I may wire the old tweeters to the cb. Thanks!
