Hi NSC crew
Hoping everyone's staying dry this weekend - we are getting a pretty good hit of rain in SW BC.
Looking for some trail suggestions for this coming weekend for some of us Coastal Cruisers (overnight Sat for sure, possibly Fri as well). Coming from Greater Vancouver BC area. Are
Stampede pass, Naches trail, and/or Spada lake doable at this time of year?
Driver skill levels are high, and vehicles (60 & 80 series) are decently modified (mine only one without sliders) lifted, winches & recovery gear, min 33" tires. Whipsaw Trail is common club run for us, not looking for rock crawling garden or mud pit bogging, rather challenging exploration. If trails mentioned are not doable, other suggestions are appreciated. Also putting out an invite to join us. Thanks in advance.

Been a couple of years for me, but unless you want to practice recovery techniques, I wouldn't recommend a muddy Naches for several reasons, not because it's impossible -- but because of vehicle damage or a very long day with not a lot of daylight, unless you get an early morning start. If you do run it, tackle the wet side first.

Challenges:
  1. Deep, steep, & rutted, off-camber sections with exposed roots that will veto any line you pick and send you sideways into a bank, good way to end a fender, door panel or rear quarter.
  2. Slippery log bridges that will definitely lead to a difficult recovery if you put one or two wheels off, some bypasses though.
  3. Very tight sections that make turning around/backing out difficult, or very limiting for recoveries. No shortage of tree to winch off of.
