 Ok so I go to Edit Avatar in my control panel but I have only one option "Do not use an avatar" and it is checked. I've tried resetting...nothing. Maybe I'm a little slow on the draw but I can't seem to add an avatar nor a pic to my profile.

I wanna post my baby.

Avatars are not available to the "newest" of forum members. This is because many people come online, post 1-2 times, upload an avatar, and never come back...and then hog valuable server space. (avatars are small, but they add up)

patience grasshoppah....your auto-promotion from "newbie" status will occur soon enuf.

So was your marriage like .. ahnuld , or sumptin ?? ;)

Hey Woody, I did the same thing and lost my avatar. 8-( How many posts do we have to make b4 we achieve enlightenment? ;) And can we host our avatar elsewhere if we want? Mine's a whopping 4KB.

external avatar hosting isn't allowed by the software

You can "skip" the post count wait with the Silver Star....otherwise I think it's 25...

Brian:

How much storage do you have attached to this server and what is MUD running on?

Greg

Celeron 2.4
1gig memory
single 40gig IDE dedicated for html/php
single 18gig SCSI dedicated for MySql
single 40gig IDE dedicated for backup purposes (those occur early Sun morning)
bandwidth allowed is 400gig per month, peaks capable of 800gig+...we run 230gig average right now...forum has over 800 unique users a DAY.

considering some changes in 2005....dual servers possibly....the "only" real load the system gets right now is during searches, and even those are short peaks and very managable.
