can't shift into L (fj62)

I have an 88 FJ62...

I can't get the truck to shift to L. I first noticed it in 4L a few
weekends ago. So I tried it in 4H, no luck.

I tried it both while stopped, and moving slowly.

I also recently tried it in 2wd. Still no go.

Not sure what to do. It goes into 2 no problem, but no L. And when I
count down from the D... 3, 2... it goes into those gears but not down
to L.

Any thoughts?

Check the linkage on the trans...could be loose or slipping or just out of whack.
