Did not get responses on anyone attending as of yet so will cancel and pick up in March. Please check the schedule for March and try to not schedule other events the same day as we need participation to make the club viable. Thank you.

no comments on attendance...

if only one or two then may cancel for month and pick up next month.

Would everyone prefer doing this every two months instead? Let me know.....either way I am fine as I was invited to go hog hunting if we dont have get together to eat and talk. LOL

I know BBQBoy wont be there.....

Well ...will make decision this week to keep or cancel meeting.

Place I am invited is over run with hogs...wildlife guys saying they are tearing up nesting and feeding islands for their waterfowl areas and want us to kill as many as possible. we shall see since the 10 of us only hunt with traditional or primitive bows........now to get off work so I can leave on Thursday at latest....preferably Wednesday. :)

It is good we canceled this month since I was going to be gone. Let me check and see what I have but I think march 9th may work for me. The following weekends of march is turkey time.

I can hunt traditional but why no guns? If you want to wipe out hogs it is hard from ground blinds or tree stands since in Texas they move around so much when they feed.
Have seen may of my cousins chase them up mountains not to find the.

because it is a traditional/primitive bowhunting group I have belonged since 1988.....we dont allow firearms and there is nothing stopping anyone from going there other times in year to kill them. Just when the enclosures are active with waterfowl hunters you cant be in there shooting rifles or bows.... They have a dog hunt scheduled first week in March so we are trying to get in before then when they are all spooked and on edge....

We are going to hunt......DNR just hopes we get 10-20 of them.....If we get one a piece we will be doing exceptional since half of us are going to be using selfbows and handmade arrows. :)

Let me know if this takes place because I will need to practice. So I take this is stalk hunting?

Damn I just got a new phone and hasn't seen the memo

the hunt is happening...i have already bought my license.....got my arrows together last night...final sharpening tonight and some extra practice. test loading canoe this weekend so there are no suprises on the river heading to area and the primitive campsite. Only thing left to tell is how many I get or miss or both when I return....

yes, spot and stalk, longbow or recurve or selfbow only...PBS member only.

I have 13 traditional and primitive bows.... The longbows are one piece though...

I do have a used custom recurve takedown (Robertson Stykbow Montana Falcon) that I might sell if interested. I searched for this bow for many years and finally found one in 60" length....bought it even though I needed 62" bow. If I find a 62" later will buy it but not shooting this one as much as my other recurves. Welcome to come by and see it and shoot it.

If I wanted anything done with compound I would not go to anyone except THE BOW SHOP in Summerville.....Bud is the owner. I think he just opened another shop in Wando/Mt P area as well...but only been to the one in Summerville.
