If you just joined, the avatar option is not there...
Out of curiosity, what are requirements for Avatar?
First off, yours fails the Family Safe category and needs to be changed
Avatar's activate for any user with 10+ posts, and the filesize settings are the same.
so should we just post 10 times here to get avatar rights? lol

There was a nice "welcome PM" feature in the previous forum software...JUST found a plugin for that...will have to re-implement and be sure folks are reading the User Guide thread

Thanks Woody! Yeah, I have 10+ posts but still dont see the ability to add a profile image or avatar in my profile/settings area.

A big reason for the Avatar and other new-user limits was spammers. With this software, that's really no longer an issue.
It does still allow new users an opportunity to get a feel for the community...there are a handful of "family safe" rules in place and odds are, a new member didn't read them (even when they WERE linked in a PM, one in 30 actually bothered).

auto population of avatar is a unique way to prevent spammers from gunking

Glad the search is somewhat organized on this site. I've been a member forever but no many posts and took forever to figure our why i couldnt add an avatar. should have searched sooner, lol
