Hello,
I had to do some touch up work with por15 on Sunday on the inner front door jambs on my 60 (both driver and pass side). As per the directions, you can't dump the xtra paint back into the can. So with the extra I painted a few rusty spots on my frame (no prep) now a day later it looks great (the frame that is) but it is silver. So can I sand it off and redo it with the black por15? How hard is it to get off in general? Oh and one more thing the temp was cold yesterday low 40's high 30's will the por15 still be good in those temps? Did I ruinm y door jambs? They look good but will it be effective? And if not, again can I sand it off and redo it in the Spring?

Thanks,
Zack

You can sand it off but if it's just the color you should knock off the shine with a 3M pad and paint right over it. The cold will make it take forever to cure. If you can apply it in a warm place ,it doesn't take long to dry. I brushed it on to areas I had used a grinder on and the feathered out with some 280 sand paper and shot primer and paint right over it. filled in the grinder marks nicely. (Trying not to use bondo) :)

And on the frame I would like to take it off, because I didn't do any prep work just slapped it on - Dumb idea!! I guess that is the reason I want it off ore than anything

I brushed some gloss black POR15 on the rear cross member of my 40 today; after sanding and prepping it. Turned out rougher than I would like, with brush marks etc. Can I just sand it down flat with fine grain paper or steel wool? I would like a smooth factory finish. I can wait for it to dry completely; curing with a infrared light like the body shops use.

I brushed the undersides of my front fenders with POR 15 and a foam brush (leaves less brush marks and their so cheap you can just toss um). I gave them a few days to cure and then hand sanded with 280 sand paper to take out any marks and then shot a 2 coats of PPG epoxy primer over it. I painted my frame with 2 coats of POR15 and 2 coats of the Chassis Black topcoat. came out great.
