Can HZJ78 leafsprings be used for HZJ74?

Tried to check the other threads but did not find a proper answer.

Does anyone know whether I can fit HZJ78 rear leaf springs on a HZJ74?

it will be too long, unless you move the spring bracket

Regardless of whether you modify to fit, they are really stiff on the 78 as it is, so unless you are going load the smaller 74 with a huge load permanently, I don't think you would be happy with the resulting ride.

Thanks for that! So I will either have to fit new ones or have the old ones hammered. Do you think its worthwile having the old restored?

Unless it's a work vehicle, buy a well-known aftermarket kit (OME, TJM, etc), I don't know anyone who has ever regretted it and many (myself included) say it's the best money spent on the car in terms of improvement. I wouldn't buy brand new OEM suspension, waste of money IMO.

Edit: can't really comment on restoring, depends on their state and who you get to do it. i wouldn't bother though.
