If the trailer weighs over 1500 lbs. the State of California requires electrical brakes.
I pull an off road trailer with my 60, but would not attempt a larger trailer. just not built for the job, and I wouldn't want to blow smoke up your skirt by telling you otherwise.
Well... It could move it... A customer of mine actually pulled one from Talkeetna Alaska all the way to Reno Nevade with a '74 FJ55.
But that doesn't mean that it is a good or safe idea. And I hate to think about how slow they would have been moving over any passes. Or how the engine handled it all. I haven't talked to them since they went south.
Edit... I would not even consider buying something like this and planning to tow it with a Cruiser. Not enough power and not enough brakes. Not enough wheel base and not enough weight.
We tow a small pop up with 4 bikesthe camper and a canoe on top of the cruiser. I have a vortec but really feel we are about maxed out. A bigger trailer would put you in a grey area on brakes and power.
