I'm not too excited about this but I found this nice trailer and wasn't sure if this is doable. I prefer a bit shorter and lighter trailer but this one is really nice in condition and price too.
I studied toyota we site for tow rating but want expert advise.

The trailer weighs about 8500lb empty 32' long fifth wheel.

Thanks in advance,

Yes, we have customers that do it with slider 5th wheel hitches and extended pin set ups on the trailers. Stopping and controlling it is a bigger concern. Pin weight is within spec, if 8500lb is wet and loaded gross is in spec.

How far are you going? Are you going up/down any steep hills? I really don't have an answer, but I'd think pulling that kind of weight with any truck would be a challenge.

8500lb is only a medium sized trailer. Compare it to a light car trailer with an 80 series on it. No big deal. The size of the truck is more the question here. We regularly set up Class III trucks to pull in the low 20's.

I wasn't too comfortable with the weight of the trailer but it was a nice one. I would probably stay around 5~6,000lbs and ~27ft long.

Thanks for your advise Hank!

We regularly pull a 10k lbs trailer with a Ford superduty. Make sure the tongue weight and the trailer brake is setup properly and you should be fine.

The pulling power should be no problem. I think the towing capacity if the Tunra is 11,000 or 12,000 pounds. However, heavier trailers have a tendancy to make the rear end squat a little more than it should. You may want to consider some air bags in the rear or something to beef it up a bit.

I pull my car trailer and fj55 with my dc tundra with 5.7L in it. I pulled it on the scales and had a total of 7,300 pounds including the trailer and what was in the bed of the truck. The tundra did great, but it could use some airbags as toyminator recommended above. the engine does great and would be even better if I could find $6k for a supercharger.

FWIW, I had a crew cab f350 with 7.3L turbo diesel in it and I think the tundra does just about the same except for the fact the rear end squats a bit more.

the problem with the crewmax is the size of the bed. You might want to watch tight turns and you'll need a slider setup or extended pin to make the shorter bed work for you.
