Since I can't make GSMTR this year, that means I may be able to do another trip before Logan's Run. Hopefully everyone will recover from their surgeries quickly and I can get this daycare business taken care of and I can get a vacation! The wife has shown interest in taking the family on a camping trip somewhere. I know at the last HAMOM everyone was talking about an expedition type run or something of that sort... I saw where ONSC has the two trips planned to Hurricane Creek but they are full. Is anyone else up for a trip with maybe no hardcore stuff just trail riding that I can take the family in the Tacoma on? I have a two year old girl so I'd like to plan accordingly. I know a few posted on the ONSC thread for Hurricane but weren't able to make the cutoff, so if anyone wants to join us on a little trip and knows of somewhere to go, just chime in and let me know... Thanks

Might be another Hurricane Creek trip in August.

We are planning to. I discussed briefly with @jfz80 and it looks like we will need to split in 2 groups. We can all go the same day, but the trails are too narrow for us to have a single group. I didn't want to start planning until I'd actually had a chance to get out there and see it (going next month with ONSC).

Isn't there some concern over campsite availability as well?

I think so... I know there is a concern over the size of the campsites. I'm reserving any judgments until I've actually seen it and have a general idea of what to expect :-) Has anyone from LCLC actually been?

I just booked a campsite at santee state park for the weekend of june 5. Let me know how Hurricane Creek is and what to expect. Maybe we can plan a LCLC trip up there sometime...

This may be a little confusing. I know of the Hurricane Creek campground in the Nantahala NF, which is in Macon County, southwest of Franklin. However, the map on ONSC board shows the Hurricane Creek trail in northern Haywood county off of I-40.
