Hello all,

My brother and I are planning to meet in the middle to do some camping and off-roading in a couple of weeks. The Ozark/Quachita National forest happens to be the middle point. I’ll be bringing my three young girls and he’ll have his young son.

We were hoping something near water (creek, lake, etc) as I’m sure it’ll be hot. Some mild trails to get out a little would be great too.
thanks in advanced.

Anywhere along the buffalo river is nice. Many campgrounds. The river is plenty low to allow crossings. From there you can work trails/ roads over to Ozark-St. Francis National Forests - Richland Creek Recreation Area richland creek campground. If you want to keep going south you can end up on the big piney river. You can spend many days exploring the area

Upper Buffalo river is best area. Stay above highway 65
