Hello all,
I'm up in Great Falls and looking at taking the family camping near Bozeman in a couple of weeks. Can any of you give me some suggestions? We would like to be within a reasonable drive to Chico or Norris, and would like to avoid KOA's. I have chains, but no lockers so any trails need to be on the easy side of things. Thanks for any feedback you might have.
Cheers,
Scot

Here's out set up for reference.

not camping per say but I just spent the holiday and three nights at the big creek forest service cabin. no electricity or running water. less than a half mile ski or walk in. 15 minutes to chico! there are tons of national forest access in other parts of paradise valley that may suit your setup better. there are also forest service cabins in the ennis area. not all are drive up.

Thanks for the feedback. I completely forgot about the first service cabins. We stayed in one near phillipsburg this summer that was pretty nice. How was the big creek cabin?

BigSky80!!!! We need to do lunch or grab a drink sometime soon!! Im in Great Falls too! May have even waved to you a time or two!!

it is one of my favorites. this was our second Christmas there. its big , close to the trail head, great snow, super close to chico or even the boiling river. I love forest service cabins!
