Agreed, that thing was phenomenal. Have you had to use it in the rain yet though? The stove in the back of my truck I can use when it's pouring rain (first year of HC for instance).

I've used it in rain on my patio, if that counts? :) Once setup, getting fire started is easy in the rain.

I wish I could find more of those stainless steel clamshell grilles Harris Teeter gave away back in 2003 or so. Mine went to Cape Lookout a couple times, a few other camping trips, and countless homebased grillings. Id buy new ones in the box at garage sales for 5.00. I'm down to 1 now, and its seen better days.

I posted this in the FS thread too but thought I would post here as well:

RTIC coolers are on a huge sale on their website and on Amazon. 65 is normally $199 and is $139 with free shipping. The 45 and 20 are on sale as well.

Just ordered a 65!

Dont know if it is their own or private labeled, but it carries their warranty and looks easy to set up. Sold out until April, added to my wishlist and hopefully they will email me when back in.

Does anyone have this tent or heard of them? I like the size and the price for a summer tent to replace mine.

Honestly, I would rather just have a real nice two-pole clip style tent than to mess with those hinges and pins.

Tall two-pole tents (~6' and taller) don't do well in high wind, but they bend vs break - never had a bent pole on mine in crazy wind during winter in KS. Two poles clip in and done, though is pretty easy.

I may have missed it but what are you guys using for fans when camping in warmer weather? looking for something battery powered or even 12v. Thanks.

I built my own with 120mm computer fans. It doesn't blow much air but it does circulate it enough to keep it from feeling stale in the tent.

It runs off 8 D-cell batteries. Not my first choice for power but D-cell's are CHEAP for initial power-to-cost ratio. A long running 12V LiPo would have been $60+.

I was just thinking about trying to install a permanent fan inside the top of the camper shell of the new truck I buy. The computer fan comment by Jonathan has me thinking now . . :)

We still use on occasion, because they won't die, the D Battery Walmart fans we used to take to Boy Scout summer camp. The batteries cost more than the fan did . . .

If we go to a state park, we have these 110AC fans - we might bring one with us if we know we are doing that. Yes I go for the tent camp sites with electricity from time to time :)

cool idea Jon. any air moving is better than none. If we have electric that's not a biggie but I'm more thinking along the lines of hurricane creek in August when it is hotter than hades at night. Preferably something that is either rechargeable or even 12V.

I have a few different fans from O2 Cool and have been pleased with them. Easy to use in the tent, on a picnic table, etc. Square shape also makes for easy packing.

Ive got this one. Great fan. I roll the window up in the 80 to wedge it in and it works great at circulating air. Or put a rod between the grab handles and wedge it in there.

I have a 12v oscillating clip on fan that plugs into the cig lighter, got it from wal mart for 7 bucks on the clearance rack...I let Johnny use my spare one at logans run

Here's something neat for those of us who grill in camp, either with our own grill or the provided park grills. Keeps you from bringing a chimney or fluid and definitely packs better than those items. Found it here for $3.97. Might be worth a try.

I'm looking to put an awning with a room on the side of my 5x12 trailer. I've looked at an actual RV awning with a room ($1000++) but they're all geared to 17' awnings (only need 9 or 10')

ARB one looks kinda small - I think it's only 6'?

Would prefer actual walls, with zip down screens as an option (versus just screens).

Any suggestions?
