Hello,

Had some fun last weekend. A friend of mine is on a Tacoma forum and had a bunch of people come in town from TX, NM, and CO. We had a good time. My dad came up from ABQ and I took my 5 yo with us.

First day we met up in Farmington and played around in Chokecherry. Then we went to Silverton and camped out. Second day we ran Black Bear and Imogene Pass. Third day we went to Clear Lake and people started to head home.

Here are the links to the Tacoma threads with pictures:

It was fun. HDC should work more of these things out.

We can barely coordinate a trip to the Puerco. The Moab trip will likely be nailed down about the time people are crossing the Utah line. You sure are asking a lot.

We used to be a lot better at it...

Perhaps, the group should be more aggressive in planning things so plans don't get pushed aside. Pick some dates, mark them on the calendar.

Example: I read the minutes to the last meeting and there was conversation of coming to Farm in September. I jumped all over it and even blocked off an extra weekend for the group. After my post it was a thread killer. Whose coming, or should I go ahead and do something else?

I'd love to see the group I've been to Moab with instead of a bunch of Texans and guys driving Tacos. They were willing to come, so I was willing to lead.

There's plenty of good wheeling nearby, without the cost and distance of Moab. A few summers ago, Tank Trap outside of Santa Fe was a blast. I know there's more nearby. Farm is only 3 hours and you can camp or get a hotel. Southern CO is 5 hours (from ABQ) to the trails and you an camp everywhere on the cheap.

I'd hate to throw the words "Web Wheelers" out there, but it has been thrown.:flipoff2:

Graham,

Leave the farmington trip on your calendar. My intention when I threw the idea out there was to get something on the calendar. If we define a date and a location, we're mostly there. Then it's just a matter of getting some folks to show up. I'm likely to make it as long as you don't give me too much crap when I wimp out and take easy lines and bypass the hard stuff. I went into Chokecherry enough when I lived there to know it's more of a play area with tons of options than it is a long trail ride with few options.

Graham,

Sounds like i missed out on this one...if i am in town count me in on any trips to CO or even Moab.

I'll hear tomorrow about this weekends run. I'll text or call you when I get notice.
