There are several that already are in the know about Jason's latest project; many hours spent on a frame-off resto to a square bezel 40. The rig was unvailed yesterday and he sent a 4 year old straight to the moon with excitement.

There really is solid goodness out there and, I have to say, this club managed to get more than its fair share. So, on this occasion, I'm calling you out "Uncle Jason". For the amazing thing you did for our kid, wow and thank you.

Wow, that's badass Jason, good work

Any in-progress pics? Have any parts sent off for powdercoating :p

HAHA. ok so you had me a little nervous to poke my head in here and see what the fuss was about. At least i finally escaped one of your posts without some goofy pic of myself :grinpimp:

I really could not think of a more perfect recipient than a John Deere crazed Cruiserhead with the resources (dad) to take it to the next level. As well, I cannot imagine any better compensation than the instant adoptions of "my land cruiser" and the ''better check my air filter first" comments. Ok, so the full throttle assault on the boxwood and garage drifting with perma-grin was pretty classic too ;)

enjoy and dont let it distract you from your own build though i feel that is somewhat of a lost hope now.

guys stay tuned........I got a feeling this one wont stay stock for long :steer:
ill add some progress shots for you to add to Brents build thread

At first I was like "so that's why he isn't married". Only kidding.

Wish I had boys but at least my girls like going for rides in the 40. Neither one like the LV look over it though.

The cruiser above looks great in the photo but that front bumper needs a winch, or is it just me? I think Clint looked into one years ago on one he did for little Clint.

They say there is a lot of truth in jest.................

It was a hoot tripping the neighbors out! Alex installing an arb in the diff of his 80, me removing my arb and winch via motor hoist, 45 diapered up for the threat of rain, and then the micro cruiser in a million pieces getting the works. They gotta love us.........................were way more entertaining than cable tv.

"so you got a nephew'' ? nope :D
the blank stares and snide comments from the neighbor that loves to crack on us were priceless. Only thing I didnt do was take it for a test lap around the circle but maybe Brent will let me borrow it one day.

Also nothing like taking hours to figure out how the heck to get inside the thing to find two screws only to have the new owner show me the secret in 30 seconds. Mr Jason these exhaust covers just pop right off.......:bang:

Ok so shoulda taken more pics but I was having waaaaay too much fun. Needed to bolster my wrenching confidence and get back in on the action. I mean Johnny has swapped drivetrains and axles twice and even the new girl is showing me up diving in and spiffing up one of the nicer 40s in the club.

I did find peg perrego's equivalent to a 12mm bolt is the self tapping Phillips head screw.

Pickup and delivery back home.

Then the process of finding all the "body mounts" so the frame off can begin

Woohoo success finally. Time to clean up the tub and chassis

Gearbox rebuild And burnt harness replacement. She's got portals yo!!!

reassembly and the satisfaction of actually fitting a cruiser In the garage.

Now onto cleaning up the patina'd plastics. No this PO did not repaint an original ;) you can see my test strips on flares to determine best product. Tie between tire foam and westleys black magic . BUT check out that flex!!!

Man it looks good in the driveway. Onset of sellers remorse

Brodi overwhelmed with excitement on delivery day so he can have my undecided attention again

Jeez how many toyotas can one guy have ;)

And transfer of ownership to happy new owner
Absolutely love this shot and true to form he checked under the hood before going for a spin. Even came with its own BFH for times of need

But thinking maybe he should have asked for both sets of keys before bedtime cause a few hours and few adult beverages later the inevitable poser shots began ( no drinking and driving on public roads occurred )

That is so unbelievably awesome!! I'm not sure I've seen that much work go into a power wheels toy before :D

Wow - nice work! Im scratching my head here wondering..maybe I shouldve started with a powerwheel and worked my way UP to an actual 40 LoL

There might be a new job for Jason in this thread!!

That thing looks great! I wish my nephew didn't already have that j**p or I would definitely find one of these!

The new girl, huh? Haha! You are welcome to come practice your wrenching skills helping me spiff up my 40! I'm a little nervous to go tearing in to it given my level of clutzy-ness lately!

I don't usually make use of the word "hate" but that's the word I pick when being victim of an "I told you so". Speed controller, new 20Ah batts, and Hall effect throttle are in the mail.

Thanks Andrew...... having a quality PO take good care of the rig goes a long way. Hats off to you as well.

edit..... So i looked for the Strong's winch mod pics for an hour or so with no luck. Anyone recall who had the shot of the sand recovery at Frisco Woods? I think it was 2011 but i searched 2010 as well with no luck but a couple folks' photobucket albums have been taken down.

A quick update .... We changed the oil today (twice) and swapped out two universal joints that were making it go "rattle rattle rattle" when he drove it.
