I have just sold both of my landcruisers to people getting the cruiser fever as much as me. Ive found one in Wichita and was wondering if someone could take a look at it for me? Or if anyone knows of a cheaper FJ40 around as I took a loss on both trucks.

Both went to friends that want to get involved. Dont care what year just want another fj40. thanks OC

Sure, I can take a look see. I might be able to corner Mike as well if need be.

We have owned our FJ40 since May 1988. And the Fj60 since January 1993.
Some of ya'll I wonder if ya belong to a Cruiser of the month club.....

My friends are just all getting into it. One buddy has been a scout guy for like ten years and he just sold his heavily built scout to buy my green oneI bought on Tuttle weekend, I get them back if anyone tries to get out, so Im ultimately covered. They are not going far!!!! This one in Witchita is at the Toyota dealer, has a snow plow on it and they have used it to scoop the lot. Thanks guys!!!!!

Since I'm pretty new to Wichita I assume since this place is so small there is only one Toyota dealer? I should be over on the other side of town today, if I get a chance I'll stop in and ask about it.

I've talked to Eddys in the past about that Cruiser. It has sat on the back lot for years and it sees occasional snow plow duty. Has a lot of covered up rust issues particularly on the tub. I have looked it over pretty close, but I don't know what kind of mechanical shape it is in. The interior is trashed and has cheap house carpeting in it which I suspect is covering up rusted floorboards. IIRC, Eddys told me it is a 73 with some other model year mechanical parts on it. It seems to me that the Service Manager told me that they had to put some 74 parts they had on it to keep it running. 2-3 years ago, the Service Manager indicated an interest to me in selling for around three thousand. I thought about it, but decided the costs after the initial purchase would get me in divorce court, 1 cruiser in the family is all I am allowed.

They have never been to keen on selling it, but at the time the Service Manager told me the general manager wasn't too happy with some of the money they were sinking into a vehicle that only got used once every few years. They haven't said anything about selling it since and I know several people in managment at Eddys and see them on a fairly regular basis, and they haven't said anything to me about selling it since that one time 2-3 years ago.

If you can buy it great, I don't think it is beyond redemption, but as long as it has sat, I would think there will be seal replacement issues and a lot of other problems.

Good luck, it does need to go to a good home.
