So some rando, I think he goes by @2ndGenToyotaFan, sent me some photos of him installing the DashHoleMount on his 85. It’s the green something. Green Bugger, or Green Pimple, or Green Mole. Dunno. Something like that.

Anyway it turns out darn near all of the Toyota flat switch blanks are the same size. Although this was designed with the 80 Series in mind it turns out it fits all of the early Gen 4Runners.

Typically this requires removing her dash to access both sides of it but Jerod was clever enough to use a clothes hanger, from one of his suits that he wears to work, to hold the rear in place while the front and hardware is assembled.

The assembled mount now gives him a threaded 1/4-20 to mount his accessory or ramball of choice. In this case to mount his cell phone.

I literally sold out today but I have another big batch in production now:

So that insert just sandwiches the dash piece?

Your mirror mount for the early trucks works in the 84 threw 88 pickups and runners, just had to make a small part drill a hole threw it and screw it with the screw you sent in the package, works well, mirror no longer fall off windshield during the heat of the day. If you want pics I will have to take some.when you start with Joeys good engineering its easy to make it work in other toyota's Thanks Witts end

I would love to see pics.

@samiam09 actually did you throw out your old mirror/mount? There is a trapezoidal piece with two ears in it that catches behind those new dowels. Your setup looks identical to just about all Toyota trucks til about 2002 (cept 100 series)

Well didn't throw it out removed it back in the day when I had a full cage in the truck, after I stopped rock crawling the cage made me feel closed in. About the time I had upgrade my lx with the compus mirror and your brkt .I had installed but never got around to wirring the truck for the mirror. So its in the garage along with all the other parts
