Hi,

I am newbie to the forum and diesel and would love to get started in both. I am considering a 83 bj42 that originated from Australia. I am told by the seller that I should have no issues registering in CA since it is already registered in WA. Is this true? Can anyone think of any reason why I would be prevented from registering in CA? Thanks in advance for you help.

Who is the seller? if a business let us know about it.

Call or visit your local DMV office before you commit to the purchase. If you can't get a good answer from them call Georg at Valley Hybrids in Stockton and I am sure he would know. He does a lot of diesel conversions as well.

Thanks Tony,
I was able to contact Georg who shared his insight on the matter. In his experience, it should not be a problem with CA registration as long as it is already registered and title. Thanks George!

And after many attempts I was also able to confirm the same with the CA DMV.

Thanks everyone for your input. I just finalized the deal with the seller and now must wait for the delivery. Oh the wait.

George already gave you correct advice. If it is titled here and the title says diesel on it, you'll have no problem.
cheers,
J
