That does look like a very cool run. Minus all those pesky Jeeps of course. ;)

Have ridden in twice for overnight stays, i have only gone in from Boston Bar. Great place to hike in the alpine, the plane crash site is a few ridges over. You should go late in the year, last time up it was late Aug and there was still snow to play in. Bring bug juice.

Been working on the pipeline just past the toll booth. On Friday afternoon I felt inspired and decided to do some exploring in this area from the Coquihalla side. Went in at Murray Lake, a very popular area with the quad and dirt bike crowd. Wound my way through cow pastures and pine forest north to Maka North FSR, crossing under the powerlines leading over the hill to Fraser canyon. The road was quite mellow and I made it to Spius Creek with some daylight left to head up toward Lightning Lake. Unfortuantely took a wrong fork and didn't make it in to where the map book shows the start of the rougher trail in to Cabin Lake. Not enough daylight and I had promised Jenni I'd go hiking on Saturday morning (short hike up Mt Laughington) so I turned back. Took the Patchett Rd back through more meadows and hooked up to the highway. I am planning on heading back out that way possibly in October to do some more exploring on Mt Stoyoma, depending how much snow there is by then. Pics...

Yup, temporary permit. I started poking at the frame rust and think I want to make some patches before I put longer term plates on it. The body is pretty rough looking so it would be a VI waiting to happen if I put plates on it right now. Passed aircare flying colours though.

plane crash site? sounds interesting... any more details? Just bought my first FJ40 and looking for a good place to break her in. :D Bit of fall camping and hiking would be nice to squeeze in before the snow gets deep...
