Do any of you know if the BVSVs (emissions vacuum valves on the thermostat housing) are interchangeable with any other toyota vehicle?

Or maybe a good source of used or new ones?

Thanks

If you were to find the same color, yes they might swap, ie pink for pink, blue for blue, violet ofr violtet ect. Or buy new ones from Toyota, they are $30ish, I just replaced both on my 82 fj40 a few months ago. I wouldn't bother with used, they might not be any good either. Each color is set to open at a different temp.

have you tested them to see if they work? its easy. Off the top of my head, when the motor is colr(as well as coolent) remove the hoses, blow in the outer one and nothing should come out of the inner. When warm(over 100deg) blow again and you will get air out the inner. I "might" have this backwards........but I think that right.

yeah we do or are going to. Use to be(and still is for a few month) in WA you could register your car in a non test area if you happen to live in a test area......just use a buddies address in a non test area and you were good to go. As of April 23 2004 the law changed, you had to sign under penelty of a felony that the address you are using is YOUR perment address. So the night before I bought 6 sets of tabs online......3 weeks later they replealed the law.......untill nov 2004, problem was ALOT of people use PO BOxs do to mail theft.....and the DMV computer system could not deal with that.........but in NOV they will have that fixed

Sort version is, if you actaully live in a non test area you are fine. If you live in a test area and use a non test address as your mailing address........in Nov your are screwed unless you lie and sign the paper..........but you might be a felony..........I need another(hey I was 18 years old) felony like I need a whole in my head ;) So my cars will be registered at my place....a test area, which really only meen I need cats on my 92, the rest will pass.......but thats alot of rigs to pay to get tested :(

Or maybe I will use my vaction home address which I rent(with recipts) a room in.......183 days a year ;) just happens to be a non test area.
