I'm thinking of buying an OME lift tomorrow. My plan is to do the OME Heavy coils in front and Medium in rear and use pro comp es 9000 shocks and struts. also I'm going to install a toytec 3/4" top plate spacer to level it out. Does this sound like it will work OK with no problems?

Hi Jason
For starters from the research I have done the OME Heavy coils will not work with the toytec 3/4 " top plate spacers. Apparently the OME springs rub the upper control arm with the spacer added. Toytec will fill you in as to what works. The information I'm giving comes straight from them. But I could be wrong. They were very helpfull in answering my questions. After telling them what I wantedto do with my Cruiser (ARB winch bumper, 12000 lb winch, skid plates after market bumper & tire carrier + haul 3000 lb trailer) they told me to go with the ARB heavy lift front & rear. Which I ghave done (still in transit for install). Hope I gave you the right info. Good luck figureing it all out.

I used the OME light front and rear and then just recently installed an All-Pro bumper and winch. The front sag was less than an 1/8" and I don't notice any handling difference. As most of my driving is on road and the articulation is better with the light coils off road , I would recommend this set up to anyone.

Warped, "Sun Fusion"? come on, admit it, its "Friggin' Yellow!" (with the "!" ) as a fellow short bus owner you gotta admit Friggin' Yellow! is a lot more fitting.

OME lift

After more research I found out pro comp doesn't make a front strut for FJ, and the spacer would be a problem. So I just went with OME heavy front med rear, hopefully that will be somewhat level.

pay no mind to warpedone, hes just a resident troll, every now and then he makes disparaging rmarks about anything that strikes his fancy, usually its somthing hes invested in himself. :D

I bought my OME coils from Toytec and was very happy with both the advice and the transaction.

Both my buddy & I purchased LR coilovers from Toytec. Good product & Doug is a stand up guy.

I know friends have bought toytec and been happy. They are a legit company.

There are many good OME vendors, like sleeoffroad.com. Christo and Robbie are about the best imo.

I thought Toytec was great to deal with. Good products and exceptional service. They answer any email questions within 24 hrs or less. The prices are also very competative. Doug at Toytec even advised me not to spend as much money as I was going too because a less-expensive suspension alternative was more what I was looking for. Ended up they recommended the OME Heavy lift for my Cruiser. The Toyota dealership I bought from liked the Toytec lift kits so much they now stock them.

YOu are the first I have seen w/ the light OME kit, I was considering doing the med's but I hardly haul any weight, and I'm looking only to put on an AP front bumper on. I am afraid that after awhile they may get too soft, my brother inlaw had them on his FJ 60 and had issues w/ them getting soft. So what do you think. I want as much flex as possible, and want to gaiin performance also. Feed back please.

I have a similar experience to Billy; I put light (883) coils the front of my FJC and a steel bumper (Demello) and a Warn M8000 winch. It sagged maybe a 1/4", it was hardly noticeable. I've had this setup for 20,000 miles now and it hasn't sagged any more. The ride is superior to stock but not harsh at all. I can take the same tight corners on two-lane country roads at least 5 mph faster than with the stock springs, and even with the extra weight on the front there is way less braking dive than stock. The 883's will only lift the front about 1-1/2" though; they are a great way to go if for whatever reason you're not going to lift the rear.

I would recommend part# FJ3-FRCC from http://www.toyteclifts.com/fjcruisercart.html#fjcruiserliftkits for what you are looking for. This kit has OME 884 coils up front and custom soft ride coils for the rear. Then add OME N71 rear shocks for a great on-road ride or the Bilsteins that they sell for a smoother off-road ride and a tad more flex. I just added a Fab Four front bumper and still happy with the ride. With about 18,000 miles the front did drop until I added the front bumper and then it was about a 1/2" or less of sag. The main reason I have this kit was to retain much of a stock like ride as possible and still get 4" of lift front and 2 1/2" rear. The OME 895 rear coils were way to stiff for daily driving. My wife would say it felt like the back was bucking as she drove it down the road.
