Hello,
I introduce myself in C-Chat , I hope that I make the right choice....
Well ....
I would like to buy a 100 Toy, and I am looking for it on cars.com and other site....
My doubts are ...
How is reliable CAR FAX report? In Europe we don't have it..
Normally Toy 100 with 200K diesel is very reliable but dont know with gasoline...can someone help me with this doubs?
Sorry for my poor american... :)

Are you looking to purchase a Euro-spec UZJ100 with a gasoline motor? When you say 200K, is that in miles or kilometers? If that is kilometers, I would not be concerned with that mileage. Most US owners on this forum bought their vehicles used with at least these many kilometers (124K miles) on them. But it all depends on how well the vehicle was maintained/serviced. (oil changes, timing belt, transmission service). If 200K is in miles, then I would either expect to get a very low price or find another vehicle with less miles.

For reliability on CARFAX, I would say it usually gives some information but my experience has been that there is a lot of information that never makes it onto those reports. I would suggest calling a Toyota dealer with the VIN and seeing if they have any details as well.

Thanks for your reply, :)
Yes I mean Km ( km +1.6 = Ml) ;)

I saw on web that all cars have VIN so I can raquest the situation about the car.

I wolud like to arrive in los angeles and to stay in California for 10 days for to choose the car and after move to baja california....
I think that it will possible in October.....

All suggest about the car will be apprecitaed for forum....

I have one Toy kKDJ95 and from 2006 I travelled in Africa and asia (turkey and Balcans with it) but is too expensive to tranfer it in mexico....
One questions ... about KDJ95 can I find original replace parts in USA?
Thanks of all support

If you are seriously thinking about buying a Toyota, the Carfax is good, but you can also check to make sure the maintenance has been regularly performed by taking the VIN # to a Toyota Dealership as stated above.

There may be some similar parts to the KDJ95 and the Toyota 4Runner, but I'm not sure how much of it is the same. Besides getting a 100 series you also have the option of a 4Runner. The 4Runner is also not a bad choice if you are a fan of the Prado's. It's a cousin of sorts. Then of course the Lexus GX is the Prado in a Tuxedo, only 120 series and up though.

The 4Runner will be the least "fancy" as it is the only US spec choice available without Leather, wood trim, etc. This might be the way to go if you are living full time in Baja, it will draw the least amount of attention.

Plenty of rust free choices for all of these in Southern California.

I choose UZJ100 for to live in Baja and travel in USA and Canada and other side of latin Amrica...I know European 4 Runner but I prefere 100 or 80.....
An White 80 it's my dream but I think that can be find with a lot of KM (ML) .... I will tri to find but is not easy.....

I don't know this option..... :(

That is the rear LCD monitor for a DVD based entertainment system. Very nice for children and long trips. ;)

Probably not a scam, the scams sell the trucks for less than $3,000. This one isn't bad, but you could probably get if for a bit less.

If you're a cash buyer you'll get the best deal buying from a private individual and not a dealership. Craigslist is a great resource for that here in the States.

This one seems like a good deal, low miles.

You can get a pretty good ball park price based on mileage and condition from http://www.kbb.com/ (Kelley Blue Book) or http://www.edmunds.com/appraisal/ (Edmunds) to compare asking prices, and have something to negotiate too. These values all have regional adjustments which might be useful.

Which are the the UZJ 100 with rear differential lock...?

1998, 1999 have diff lock option but no VSC.

You can get ARB diff locks for all Years.

If you have the means find 2003+ for the 5-speed Trans, and option of side air bags
