Buttons, electronic stuff, and sound system

I live overseas in Africa, 1 year ago imported a 1993 VX 80s. Have put about 10,000km on Lara, and she is faring well. Did 3435km in Botswana through Chobe and Kalahari - blast. Lara was a knock-out. Ill be back in the USA for a few weeks, and am considering a sound system upgrade. Could I get some advice? I know 0 about sounds systems, but here are some things:1. current radio and speakers are stock toyoto: (cd player, tape, am/fm) cd works poorly. currently i run an mp3 player through a fm transmitter.2. Id like a boosted system - plays mp3s, maybe even flash memory, fm receiver - no need for cd/tape.3. Are USA systems compat with my JDM?4. What specs, where should I buy?Any suggestsions?OTHER QUESTIONS:1. There's a button on ma rig "ECT". A light goes on "PWR" when I click on it. What exactly does this do?2. Lara has some squeaks that developed after Botswana trip. The biggest seems to be the sun roof is rattling. Do others have this prob and can/should it be taken care of?Christopher

zambiamud, i have a 92. i think you have a HDJ81 vx diesel like mine.
my ect button will electronically increase rpm's without pressing the accelorator and increase power, its almost like downshifting. re; your sunroof, probably just roller guides that are rattling and rubber gaskets that have shrunk as well. throw some grease up there and see what happens.
