Bushings ?

What would be the best type of bushing to replace the spring bushings on my 60? rubber or synthetic

Either would work John. I have the OME Poly's and they work just fine.

Thanks guys. I'm going to try my hand at machning a set out of poly and sleeving them with bronze or stainless to try and control the rust on the mounting pins. The front pins are scrap but the rear pins are in good shape.

It was interesting till I was asked to step away from the lathe by the senior machinist. So the bushings will cost me an apple pie now.

maybe too little to late, but would it have been easier to swap to bolts, and just buy the bushings off the shelf?

Are you milling out bushings, or starting with a block of poly?

The machinist told me to go back to welding and leave the machining to them. So I'll have to trust them for now. I did get all new shoulder bolts and shackle material.

The machinist did a great job and all it cost was a key lime pie. Now I have to get Phil to come over and do the install for a pastry.

Yeah, I'm good too, John. No repayment necessary. It was nice to get out of the house into a warm shop to bust some knuckles, or in my case, a fleshy skull.

Sorry I couldn't make it to see the fun go down, (not the fleshy skull wound). And I've seen Phil set around & drink coffee before, so I know I didn't miss anything there.

My only request, John, is for you to put Phil to work more often & give him all the BS stuff like cleaning, or shoveling pea-gravel, or something else that really sucks. That kinda stuff builds character & I know he could use some character building.
