Who is available and willing to help me remove my rear bumper on the Lexus and install a new bumper and swing out setup from Bump It Offroad?

It is fairly heavy so not sure the wife will be able to help on this one like the others....it is a rear bumper plus tire swingout and dual jerry can swing out.

If you have a reciprocating saw bring it with you and a long blade as I have to cut the rear cross member that the bumper replaces. If not will go to Northern Tool or Harbour Freight for a cheapy since I NEVER NEED one any other time and just use a cutting wheel instead.

Please let me know as soon as possible. I will feed you and give you a couple beers and a bit of APPLE PIE (Afterwards) for your help.

I;ll be camping this weekend, but you can use the sawzall

that is okay...peer pressure has me buying one from HF this week....they have one that has some good ratings for $49....if it works this time and two more times I will be happy. LOL

I would ask Bessinger to help but not heard anything from him other than Turkey Shoot in weeks.....LOL

Glen dont work on Saturday....

Well if anyone changes their mind locally....here is address:

874 Hunt Club Run, Charleston

Hunt Club subdivision just off Beesferry and across from Main Road on Johns Island. If you hit Hwy17 from Beesferry and see Dodges Store you missed it....on the right.

I am second house past pool on right...yellow two story...look for dismantled white LEXUS in drive and man cussing with beer in hand. :D

I will be in Charleston this weekend with Claire for a soccer tournament. I can bring my cordless (Ridgid) recip saw and blades. We have a 10am game Sat should be through by 12noon.

That is cool...i should have rear bumper off by then and all the parts layed out...and bearings packed for the swingarms by then. I might go buy a cheap harbour freight recip if you change your mind...but thanks for help.

90% Done....

Thank BBQBoy for the heavy lifting to actually put the main bumper on frame rails. Much appreciated as I could not have lifted and fitted it alone....just too damn heavy.

No problem at all Ron. I didn't do much but I was glad to help. Looks good btw.

Here is side shot to see how much was removed by bumper replacement...stock lined up bottom of bumper from side with about middle of rear hub. Now it is about to the V in wheel spoke above hub.

rear tail pipe and resonator hang 4 inches lower than bumper now...rather than being tucked up inside bumper with spare tire being lowest thing under there.

May take off that tie down eye...but leaving tow hook on other side as it is only thing keeping tailpipe from being smashed on rocks until I can get it replaced with some innovative bends in new pipe to go up where tire used to be and maybe come out inbetween tire and where skid starts under the rear quarter guards. :D :D

The tie down tab on drivers side I just put back on as it does not bother me if it hits a rock or something. Not doing any rock crawling events so dont care about it back there and whether it grinds on a ledge or not. Plus I had to leave the tow hook underneath on passenger side to protect my tailpipe until I can get it replaced with a new bend profile to tuck up underneath better.

So I left them both...for balance. :D

Not that I noticed....seems great. not too concerned anyhow as if it does cause problems in future will just tear it all out and put in OME or Ironman suspension.....especially after my front bumper and winch goes on next month. :D

Looks good. Should improve your departure angle considerably, maybe 15-20%.

But will it be acceptable in the country club parking lot? There may be a fine or major assessment involved.

I'm just waiting for the day when Brock sells the Lexus to Sherman and buys a golf cart to start modding with a SAS, bumpers, etc. Then he will stop harassing us on Mud and start swinging his cane to all the young folks in the neighborhood as he hangs out at the stop sign at the end of his street.

I don't think I would buy a 100 series unless the stock suspension has been replaced. I also don't like IFS and big tires. I have seen them snap and the boots rip. I am pretty happy with the 60 series. I would probably get a newer 70 series or a Fj55 with a v-8 conversion. But I don't think Brock would play golf.

Looks great Brock! Makes me want stuff for the wife's hundy. Guess it'll have to wait until the 62 is sold though.
