Hey guys,

Looking for some general advice for my build

At the moment I have a pretty much stock 4.5l straight 6 79 series. It's a 2000 model. It's got 2" lift and 33's but that's about it.

Looking at putting lockers front and rear, new bullbar, and winch on at the moment.
I'm also looking for someone in the Brisbane area to install at least the diffs as that's a bit far out of my league at this point. The plumbing in and wiring up I could handle
Arb quoted me 7.8k for all of the above installed and fitted. Seems abit steep to me considering some of the labour charges. 200 bucks to put on a bullbar :/

Any brands anyone would recommend over arb?

After that I'm planning on getting a new tray made up, I've got a pretty solid idea in my head of what I want but also need some recommendations on a fabricating shop to do it if anyone knows a guy I'd appreciate it!

I also want an overhead console for the interior aswell. Found some guys online that make Some pretty awesome ones at what seems a fair price. I'll try and find the link for anyone who might be interested.

Then other then some extra spotties I think that would about have me sorted, unless I decide I need bigger tyres but not to concerned about that right now 33" don't seem to be any issue.

Anything anyone thinks I've forgotten feel free to tell me. Still pretty rookie with this and only just starting my research. I'd love to get feedback/advice.

My end game is keeping it on the road and maybe entering some of the amateur 4x4 comps for abit of fun.

sounds like you've got a pretty good idea of what your wanting to do mate, best price I ever got for diff locks was ARB's from rocky road (www.rocky-road.com) in the states I paid just over $600 USD each for them they were close to half the price I could get them in NZ or out of Aussie at the time, cost me another couple of hundred to get the C&P's fitted then I installed them myself. Personally I wouldn't put a diff lock in the front without longfield Axles and CV's or similar cromoly's you soon get sick of swapping out smashed stock CV's, you've probably got the bigger CV's so maybe you'll have better luck than I did. 33 inch tyres are pretty small for a cruiser these days and about the minimum size you'd want to put on if your going offroad, personally I wouldn't go under 35" especially if your wanting to do some amateur comps and have a bit of fun in it. Another thing to factor into the wish list is a suspension upgrade, not a cheap thing to do but worthwhile for offroad capability to get some articulation going those things come out of the factory as stiff as a board with little or no flex its hard to keep all 4 wheels on the ground at the same time..... my 2c worth of what I think I've learnt over the years :)
