Man that's some sad news about Mr. Bobby! RIP sir!
My condolences go out to John as well. I'm very sorry for your loss!
On another sad note. I followed up on the letter sent to the White House to turn the trails in Moab into a national monument by sending emails to the following companies; The North Face, Patagonia, and Red Wing Boots three days ago. I guess it wasn't much to my surprise that Red Wing was the only company to respond (I've included my email and their response below). I sent one to New Belguim Brewery today and would think that they would respond. Feel free to use part of my initial email if you feel so motivated.

Justin,
Thank you for taking the time to write to us in regards to the letter written by the Outdoor Industry Association. We have always given the utmost value to the voice of our fans and customers and are very appreciative of your opinions regarding Utah and the classification of the state’s 1.4 million acre Greater Canyonlands.
While work is our work, we value the positive effects of play as well. America’s open spaces provide us all with resources for enjoyment and recreation. The wilderness of the United States is a window into our past and embodies much of the diverse character and allure of our country. For these reasons, we support the preservation of the Utah Greater Canyonlands in a manner that is conducive to public use and enjoyment. We know firsthand that outdoor recreational enthusiasts are a responsible and caring group, having many of them in our employment, and do not wish to see the public barred from the appreciation of Utah’s wilderness.
We are confident that a solution to this issue can be reached where the public may continue to enjoy this majestic area while Utah’s natural beauty continues to be preserved.
In regards to the letter written by the Outdoor Industry Association, we agree that Utah’s Greater Canyonlands require protection and preservation. However, we do not support closing the area to the public or a full ban of recreational vehicles within the Greater Canyonlands, a proposal which is not mentioned in the letter. Rather, we support further investigation into how to best preserve this natural treasure while continuing to allow the public enjoyment of these lands.
Thank you for your outspokenness on this issue and for allowing us to articulate our position. We hope this clarifies the issue and resolves your concerns. Should you have any further questions, please feel free to continue reaching out to us.
Sincerely,
Consumer Relations

Red Wing Shoes,
I'm a third generation oilfield worker and wore Red Wing boots, just as my grandfather did when he was still actively working. I also happen to be an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys riding off-road trails in my Toyota. It has been a dream of mine to make it to Moab, UT and explore the greatest off-road trails in the entire world. However, that dream is being threatened by a specific group of people and companies who are lobbying to turn this area into a national monument, thus preventing Off-Road Vehicle usage on the property. I am extremely upset to know that your company supports this effort. Your customer base is very wide and I know that I'm not the only one that feels this way. I ask that you reconsider this stance in hopes that a solution can be resolved that appeases both sides of interest.
Thanks,
Justin Dworaczyk
