Can't go wrong with either IMO just depends on your needs. I treat the 80 like a mule and will throw just about anything in the back but there are those times you just need a truck for hauling the other stuff :) I liked the Trail Team Red but like the new Grey even more :)

Cool, is it one of their military spec versions they use overseas? If you find a link to the episode please post it I looked but didn't see it. Also time and channel it comes on so those us who can't catch it can DVR it :D

Can't find it in those lists. I know Ben Collins (Top Gear's old Stig) wasn't on it. It was built by Stoof Intl. a German company. The girl takes it through a course and they builders go through what they've done to it. It's on Velocity ch. 281 on DirecTV. There are a ton more times it's being replayed in the coming weeks. The program header is "Mercedes SLS AMG v Ashton Martin v Jaguar v Bently." Iy also has old rally driver Stig Blomqvist in it.

Thanks I'm gonna set the DVR to start recording them, I DVR the Top Gear both US and BBC but haven't caught this one. I wish someone would do a series covering overland trips and off-road related stories and reviews. I think it would do well :)

I think Fifth Gear just starting playing on Velocity. I'm a huge Top Gear UK fan, but can't seem to settle into the US version.

Yea a lot of people feel the same way about the US version I wasn't so sure myself after watching the first season when you consider it to the UK version but its coming into its own. The reviews are useless but the three distinct personalities are entertaining to say the least. The wife and kids even enjoyed a few of them the mini cars episode and the off-road trip to Moab in the cars. Its growing on me and the mix of cars and laughs were entertaining. Beats watching the food network, or home improvement shows which is usually the other option if the wife has the remote

If you find yourself looking for good camping gear these folks ROCK, http://www.backcountry.com/ I shopped around town and on the Net until I was tired of looking this light weight backpacking gear isn't cheap and trying to keep Holden's pack around 20 - 25lbs is tough. These folks had good prices and I ordered Tuesday with FREE two day shipping and it arrived today. I was trying to give some of the business to Pack & Paddle their prices wasn't eye gouging and like the idea of supporting the local business but it was going to take them over a week to get the tent and sleeping bag I needed and this place got all of my order here from Utah in two days. Impressive :)

Next I need cooking tips from cooking on this

Paul and I were discussing the crawl control function this week. If the FJ version is derived from the 200 series I read where it was the most advanced crawl control function in the industry. Looks like it performs well on the hill climbs, MTN trails or Moab type rock I can see it being pretty nice feature to have :)

You take your built rig up a fairly good trail to the top of a of a vista to check out the view and a family with two kids strapped in their car seats pulls up in a 200 with the DVD's playing to see what your checking out, LOL. Granted you could build two or three nice rigs for the sticker price you have to appreciate the capabilities they're still breeding in the LC's. I thinks its great that they are offering it or a version in the 4-runner's and FJ's as well :)

That's the first real videos I've seen of this, what happenings if you need to press brake to slow down, does it stop.

I'd love to see that with out it, as a base comparison. I really need to see a 200 wheel. I've got some cane fields with a couple ditches if ya want to come test it... :)

All you have to do is steer it down a good line I saw the Prado version wheeling some rocks down under that was pretty cool to see how it worked. The steer assist would have been nice with the 80 locked front and rear steering is a chore you have to and unlock the front end as you setup against obstacles. Search YouTube crawl feature on 200 series you'll find some nice videos :) Hot Springs is a perfect testing ground ;)
