I heard there was a guy out hunting instead of talking about cruisers but we know that he'll share w/ us when he gets the chance... Is that true??? :D

Good to see you bud... you've been missed.

I just said that Cannon and Schwing have been MIA.

me!

Definitely been huntin' lately. I'll share when I get the chance. It's just to get the chance!

Some, but mostly this is a hunting web site and we've been passing the time talking Cruisers while waiting for you to report in with your adventures. Oh, everyone seems to like duck roll ups. Futch is on the board with some tasty rolled teal. Want to challenge him at the next wrenching session?

No need to challenge Futch. I'm sure he skewed up some tasty bites. I'll do what I can to make sure I don't embarass myself against the high standard he set.

Armond, how was the teal split?

I only made 3 hunts due to kids' soccer and football. Work got in the way a little bit also. However, my hunts took place around each of the 3 weekends in Teal Season. We got quick limits each time out. I hunted the first Monday (after what was surely a lot of pressure on opening weekend) in a rice field in Thornwell. There were a lot of birds and 5 of us shot 20 before 7:00am. My second hunt was on the Saturday of the middle weekend. I hunted the marsh down in Pecan Island with 3 others and we were done about 7:40 with our 16 birds. The final hunt of the season for me was on the Saturday of the last weekend. I hunted a rice field in Indian Bayou. My 2 hunting companions and I had 12 teal before 7:00am All in all, I wasn't disappointed other than a lack of time to get out in the field. I am making plans to alleviate that problem when the big duck season gets here!

not sure if this is the right place to post this, so feel free to move it if necessary :) ...

Paradise Excursion 5 –Relay For Life/ACS Benefit Run
November 3, 2007
Meet at Community Motors in Hammond @ 2:00 pm
Registration/Ride 101 Course will take place until the
Convoy leaves at 3:30 pm.

"Paradise Excursion” will be a benefit run for American Cancer Society. The Paradise Excursion will be a two day event. Registration will consist of signing a waiver and a $15.00 per vehicle donation.

All money raised will benefit, American Cancer Society. The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.
The trails will be ridden once after the sun has gone down. The night ride has been singled out as the most luring part of the Paradise Excursion. After the Night ride, everyone can gather around the bonfires in one of the two different areas of the property. One site at the beach, and the other at the pavilion area.

Brown spaghetti will be provided by AWOL, at a $5.00 per bowl donation to the fundraiser. We will also be selling breakfast in the morning.

If you chose to stay the night, you should bring enough supplies to camp in a tent or sleep in your vehicle warmly.

If you wish to ride Sunday only, registration will be at 8:00am at Mike Dawg’s on the I-55 University Exit 32 in Hammond. The Sunday crew will be lead to the property by trail guides who will collect signed waivers and $15.00 donations.
Volunteers are needed to run or walk in the Relay for Life Saturday. If you wish to participate in this click on this link: http://www.geaux-awol.com/index3.php?source=relayForLife and sign up. Only people interested in running or walking need to sign up. Others interested in working the AWOL booth just get with Josh or Shawn. The RFL will end around 5:30 and we will caravan from there to Paradise in time for dinner and the night ride.

Remember, this is for a good cause. We appreciate your participation and donation.

The event will start with registration at Community Motors in Hammond at 2:00 p.m.

The convoy will leave for the Paradise Property at 3:30 pm.

Upon arrival at Paradise, everyone will have sufficient time to unload, drop off extra supplies and air down if necessary. Dinner will be served at 6.p.m.

The Night Ride will begin at 7:30 pm. The property will be ridden in its entirety.

When the Night Off-roading is complete, the 2 Bonfires will be lit and everyone can retire to the campsite at their own discretion.

The Morning Run will start after breakfast is served (around 9:30am.)
The excursion will end around Lunch time Sunday

Let's all do this...it'd be great fun...nice trail ride...also, it's before the Jeep Jaunt and before the next LA 4x4 meeting. I would like very much to go and especially all of you that haven't been yet on this trail yet.

Thanx a ton for posting Jason.

Thanks Jason. It seems there is alot going on that weekend. The Jeep Jaunt is that weekend as well. I'm looking forward to going back to Paradise the property and trails are awesome. Factory rigs can make the ride.

Also the date is close to the BSLCA Sicily Island Ride Nov 16 - 18th, but I figured I'd post it anyway cause it's for a good cause.

BTW, do we have a name like 'southern cruiser crawl' for the Sicily ride yet :D
Italian theme, maybe

Def a good cause and a reason to support those events when we can. As for a name for the Sicily ride this will be a trial run for a much larger event next year. I really want to get the the CottonLand guys opinion on the place. We could call this one "The Tour Of Sicily" :hillbilly:

Down Town Alive This Friday

We are getting a bunch of 4x4s together this Friday to make a showing at
DTA. We are parking 4x4's all around parK and in the legal
parking spaces, and I have a couple of volunteers to feed the meters
(some people are parking early in the morning). I mean, we are trying
to TAKE OVER the area around the park for Downtown Alive. We will be
promoting the jeep jaunt, so, if you can round up some fellow 4x4-ers,
ya'll park around park at some point on Friday and join us
for DTA!!

(I say 'us', I won't actually be there, I have to work all day Friday,
from 8 in the morning until 9 that evening, but my brother will be there
heading things up... his name is Danny, if you are able to get some
land cruisers out there, look for him!!)

Thanks!

Damn I'm gonna miss some fun stuff...in Arkansas for another week or two.
