I just left my business card with an invitation to call me about our group on a 1976 Beige FJ40 in the parking lot at Lourdes. Some of you from Lafayette may know this guy. Heck, he may already be a part of BSLCA, but since I wasn't sure, I figured not harm in trying.

Hey Armond, that's Will Lorio's rig. He's a frind of mine and got me into cruiers. I've already tried to talk to him about the club, he didn't seem too interested because of work/ time issues. I'll try again. Thad

Thad's in the house  One weekend with the guys and he'll be hooked. :D

I get credit for putting something out there to get Thad to make his first post! Anyway, just let Will know that there are not ime commitments to be a part of this. At the very least he should check us out. Then he'll know plenty of folks with the same passion for the vehicles and when he needs something, he'll know how to contact us.

Hey guys, I have a confession to make. Way back in the late 80's and early 90's before all of this forum on ih8mud got started, I used to spend almost every waking moment on the internet looking for Land Cruiser stuff. There was something called the Land Cruiser Mailing List - LCML for short. I can remember getting home late from work and leaving early to go to work to read the posts. My wife thought I was up to something bad. Thank God when I explained what was taking up all my time, she had no trouble believing me. For me, it was nothing short of an obsession. Truthfully, I have forgotten almost everything I learned because I took a long break from being so involved. If you look at my TLCA number, you'll see that I have been a member for a long time. I am saying this because if I ever go missing from the discussions here for a long period of time, it's my way of not getting too caught up in everything. The BSLCA is a great thing and I am proud to be a part of it. I just have to try and moderate my participation. Heck, I should be at home right now with my kids. I gotta go. See you guys tomorrow. BTW, anyone remember the old LCML?

Damn, I didn't think they were on the internet way back then. I lived through every parts catalog I could get my hands on back in 96 when I did my first frame off. I did have a TLCA number then but let it go. I remember getting their two page mailers nothing like the TT we get today but still excited to see other's rigs. I used to cut out articles the had on cruisers in the tech sections of Petersons's and Off Road magazine and use it as a guide to help improve the build.

:)

Looks like someone's photoshop ride. It don't look a real truck to me  wheel base body placement don't add up. It is a hiliraous looking little creation. Please don't consider doing this to your 4-Runner. We can find you a a truck or 4-Runner body to swap out. If you really want to get creative put a 40 tub on there. I think I sent you the link to the guy doing that build. Very nice job.

dont worry, I wouldnt want anything that pretty anyway, would feel bad when I dented it.

I was goign to pick up a pickup body this week but was talked out of it by my fanancial advisor.

The fj40 body would be tempting but with the prices FJ's seem to fetch I could not justify the cost of a clean rustfreeish body. The only reason I am thinking of swapping bodies at all is the fact that it keep sraning inside the truck, and I hate to have put all the money into my truck I will end up spending and end up with a rustbucket on a good frame. It would be its own theft deterent device though;p .
