Hi all, I have a broken solid blue wire in my drivers door hinge- anyone know what this is? I had pulled it out from the loom- it wasn’t out in the open like this when I first started- FYI.

It’s my last hope to getting my master window switch to control the rest of the windows- but I also don’t have a solid blue wire coming out of my master window switch.

I’ve tried the reset procedure, tried to swap out the 40amp relay/fuse under the driver kick panel, tried two new master switch panels… nothing will control the other windows (they work from their own switches, and the master switch window lock DOES lock them all- just won’t roll them up/down).

Hoping maybe this one solid blue wire somehow has something to do with it.

That's not a factory wire. Are all the buttons and functions on that door working? If yes, insulate that wire and leave it alone until you get to properly pull it out and disconnect from the power circuit.

It was in the loom with everything else, I pulled it out like that.

Everything works except the master window switch to control the other three windows

I would GUESS it may be related to a remote start set up. Perhaps it was wired in to "lock" the doors on start up. I rememer the installer searching for a particular wire for that purpose when my remote start was installed. I can't recall his finding/location/solution.

that dosnt look like a brake in the wire, looks more like maybe something was spliced into the harness. if it is part of the factory harness you shoul dbe able to pull the door panel off and get a look at the harness on the inside of the door and make a repair

I spliced it to hold the two ends together. It was broken before I pulled it out of the loom and tried to splice it to the other half

I think I finally found a wiring diagram with it- and it simply says IG- which I think is insulated ground. I’m going to solder connect the two ends together today and see if it fixes the master window switch issue I’m having .

The blue wire is the power connection from the driver’s door power window switch to the three other doors’ switches & motors. Hook it back up and all should be good.

I was having a similar problem at one point and the problem was a poor pin connection on the back of the switch. If the ground doesn’t cure it, pull the connector and make sure all the pins are making a good connection.
