I'm not sure how to tell if your tranny mount is gone, but it sounds like your driver's motor mount is definitely gone. I had the same thing happening with the fan hitting the shroud on accerations on turns--turned out I had a broken driver's side mount. A month or two later, had the same thing happening and my gear shifter was hittin' it to the passenger side HARD when I would accelerate from dead stop (more so if I dropped the clutch hard). Driver's side mount was broken again. I also inspected the tranny mount and saw what looked to be a crack in the rubber. So I decided that since it was 20 years old anyway, it'd probably not be a bad idea to replace it even if it was not broken. Pulled it and it was indeed broken.

Good luck.

i tihnk one way to check the motor mounts is to pulll the e-brake and then put the car in drive or reverse and give it some gas. If the engine turns or moves in the bay then you know the mounts are bad.

It sounds like a broken motor mount. It can cause the fan to hit the shroud under load, the transfer case lever can press against the body when in 4 low (and pop out of gear), and cause the throttle linkage to bind up. Imagine climbing a slick rock ramp when your t-case jumps to 2 wheel drive and your throttle sticks wide open.

Try the e-brake load test as previously mentioned. Then tighten a big C-clamp on the driver's side motor mount and retest.
